Problem/Solution: The site is on the border of I-75 South and University Parkway. Fifty acres of the site was stripped of vegetation and the soils were exposed to temperatures of 80 to 90 degrees. Drought conditions caused fine sand particulates (which are common throughout Florida) to swirl into large clouds of dust that impeded drivers vision along I-75 and University Parkway. Hydrograss was called in to cover the existing ground with our superior dust control agent, EarthStop 515. It is an Anionic Polymer with a cross-linked agent that is site specific. It lasts up to 3 months on the surface before photo degradation of the particles begins. This enabled the contractor to begin the next phase of the project and prevented the owner from being fined 50K by the EPA.
